Put down roots and they grabbed on in this magical world...

Laura is a former California Private Investigator who came to Mexico 18 years ago. Thriving in this paradise, she has no plans to break the enchantment. Laura also is an experienced interpreter/translator in Spanish and has enjoyed teaching at a Zihuatanejo language school prior to her move to La Barra.

Now part of an old and deeply respected Zihuatanejo-Petatlan family (after 18 years of marriage with the wild and talented Costeno chef - beloved son of that family) she now spends much of her focus on the Children's Library Project of La Barra de Potosi.

Together with a caring staff we have formed a treasured and vitalizing team with deep roots of love in this village. Ongoing is the joy taken in serving as a bridge between two deeply contrasting and amazing cultures.

Favorite time... the 'morning' soirees at the breakfast table, the evening candlelit gatherings around the 'fire of candles' with people of many cultures, sometimes with the music of piano or guitar, singing and wonderful conversation and play in the street with the children and neighbors and of course the daily restful picnics on our beach property.

Yes, the magic of this place gets deep in the bones!
